Biz-e-bee game piloting experiences across Europe
Before the Biz-e-bee serious game official launch in Antwerp, Belgium on the 3rd of June 2016, the project partners within the 'Serious Games for Entrepreneurship Skills of Adult Learners' (SG4Adults) organised multiple piloting sessions in 6 different countries, with different target groups.
All of the piloting sessions took place during April and May 2016, namely, the project team leader CVO Antwerpen was the first to pilot Biz-e-bee in Belgium. Being one of the largest center for adult education centers with several campuses in and around the city of Antwerp in the Flemish region of Belgium, CVO Antwerpen organised the piloting within one of its 950 modular daytime and evening courses per year. Among the players were representatives of the target groups that they have identified as priority for its vocational education and training, such as immigrants, prospective entrepreneurs and older learners.
In Switzerland, project partner Seed visited CP-StartUp and included young and motivated entrepreneurs to tryout Biz-e-bee. On the other hand, in Macedonia, 15 unemployed young people who want to start their own business were the game players. The piloting took place at YES business incubator, managed by project partner YES Foundation. The Biz-e-bee piloting was part of a training course for unemployed young people, with a particular focus on ethnic minorities, for developing skills for self-employability.
Project partner Universitat Jaume I (UJI) from Spain involved adult learners with a vast life experience in the game piloting in the city of Castellon. Players enjoyed playing a lot, intriguing a special turn in the display of various entrepreneurial competences tackled by the game. The Elephant Learning in Diversity piloted Biz-e-bee in The Netherlands. An enthusiastic group of 12 students was led by two game masters, who were also part of the project Train the Trainers session that took place in Nijmegen, in December 2015.
Biz-e-bee got popular in demand in Greece during its piloting phase. Namely, three separate sessions of game playing were organised by project partner VET IRIS, with three different target groups (students, entrepreneurs and trainers). Over 30 participants took part in the piloting process, during May 2016.
A selection of photographs of the Biz-e-bee piloting experiences across Europe is available in the Gallery section at our website, here: https://sg4adults.eu/gallery.php
It is also important to mention that all of the piloting participants, such as game masters, players and observers of the piloting process, were able to provide their feedback, remarks and insights about various aspects of the gaming, in order to generate ideas for improvement.
